Awards & Creditations Received
Chartered Surveyors
Slade Parry Limited is a surveying firm designated as Chartered Surveyors by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This status has been achieved by virtue that both of the company’s directors are Chartered Surveyors, plus the practice undergoes an Annual Review by the RICS and is checked for compliance of the relevant Members Accounts Regulations and Professional Indemnity Insurance Rules. All Chartered Surveyors within the practice also have to carry out at least 20 hours of Continued Professional Development each year, which must be monitored by the company.
Awards
Building Control Awards are awarded by LABC (Local Authority Building Control) for schemes which have received a high standard of design and application information as part of the building regulation application and subsequent construction. Slade Parry Limited have been presented with a number of awards over recent years relating to the following projects:-
- Alterations and refurbishment to Alcombe Lodge
- New office building for Harris and Harris
- New Extensions at Minehead Middle School
Accredited Agent Scheme
In February 2013 West Somerset Council launched an accredited agents scheme which Slade Parry Limited is part of. The aim of the Accredited Agent scheme is to foster good working relations between the council and planning agents and to promote the submission of planning applications that are of a professional standard.
Accredited Agents are planning agents that:
- have a proven track record, of submitting applications that have all the correct information, drawings and documents, this means no delays in registering their applications,
- attended the agents forum to keep up to date with local issues,
- have signed up to the Agents Code of Practice.
The Accredited Agent scheme relates to the ability of Accredited Agents to submit valid planning applications so that West Somerset Council can register them without delay. It does not guarantee that planning permission will be granted. Applications submitted by Accredited Agents are considered in the same way as applications submitted by Agents that are not.
